“Through installation, collage, and assemblage art I have created artwork that confronts the institution’s philosophies that operate with conscious biases and attempt to camouflage themselves under the notion of inclusion and diversity.”

Vow Renewal – June 3, 2023

As a queer artist, June holds a special significance for me. I was thrilled to be invited to design the art and a special mural for the pride events in Annapolis, MD. During the celebration, my wife and I joyously renewed our vows, commemorating eight years of love, loyalty, and shared adventures. Join me in embracing diversity, spreading love, and igniting creativity as we honor the spirit of Pride through my art.

I’m still elated from the incredible mural unveiling at the Severn Center in Maryland on May 13. The outpouring of love and appreciation was overwhelming. I had the honor of capturing unforgettable photos with Governor Wes Moore and the remarkable Ms. G, a tireless advocate for creating the center that shines in the mural. It was a truly magical celebration, filled with warmth, laughter, and a strong sense of community.

Banneker- Douglass Museum after-school program

For the past several months, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as an art instructor for local youth through an after-school program created by the Banneker-Douglass Museum. We’ve explored Black history and today’s community guardians while dedicated young artists have honed their skills and explored their passions through a variety of mediums, from painting and drawing to photography and mixed media. Our end-of-the-year showcase was attended by Maryland’s First Lady Dawn Flythe Moore. Many thanks to the Banneker-Douglass, Maryland’s Museum to preserve African-American Heritage, for this opportunity.

August 2023

Finally, I’ll be participating in a residency sponsored by Fire & Bliss this August in Colorado. I’ll be immersing myself in a creative haven nestled amidst nature’s beauty and prepping work for a solo show coming later this year. I’ll also be giving a talk at the Evergreen Center for the Arts while I’m there on developing a social justice art practice.
